Cape to Cape Track
Embark on a captivating journey along the Cape to Cape Track, spanning 123km from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin. Recognised as one of Australia’s ‘Top Ten Multi-Day Walks’ by Australian Geographic, this adventure takes you through enchanting karri forests, cliffside vistas, remote beaches, limestone caves, and historic lighthouses. Explore at your own pace in half day sections or allow 5 – 9 days to take it all in.
Calm Beaches & Bays for Swimming
While the region is know for its world-class surf, there are a lot of opportunities to enjoy a salt water and fresh water dip in beautiful sheltered bays, cosy nooks and flat lagoons around Margaret River. Here’s a list of family favourites close by: Margaret River Mouth, Gnarabup Beach, Foul Bay, Kilcarnup Beach/Joey’s Nose, Gracetown, Chapman Pool and Rosa Brook.
Explore the Caves

Boranup Forest Trails
Emerse yourself in towering karri trees, some reaching over 60m in height. The rays of sunlight burst through the canopy above creating picturesque vistas. Launch the Boat
If you love the wind in your hair and salt on the face, and the adventure of fishing, the regions offshore and nearshore fishing is done along the western coast of the region, between Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin. Access ramps at Gnarabup in Margaret River or Gracetown and Augusta. For a river adventure, you can access the Blackwood, with boat ramps at Augusta, Sue’s Bridge, and Alexandra Bridge.
Surf the Coast
From around Cape Naturaliste through to Cape Leeuwin and beyond, this area is famous for its surf. There are over 100 surf breaks all with fun names like Cobblestones, The Womb, Huzzas, North Point, South Point, The Box, Rivermouth, Grunters, Gas Point, Redgate, and Boranup, all varying in required skill level. Beginners can rent all the gear and get lessons from Margaret River Surf School (margaretriversurfschool.com). If windsurfing is your thing then Augusta offers fun conditions. There’s also great foiling and kiting at Gnarabup and Gracetown.
Ride the MTB Trails
This region is a mountain biking haven, boasting over 100km of single track including the world-class Wooditjup Trails, built by Magic Dirt (pictured). Each trail flows smoothly into the next, immersing you in the area’s natural beauty. Whether you’re seasoned or new to biking, Margaret River delivers an unforgettable experience.
Within the Arbour estate masterplan, Magic Dirt is designing a 2km MTB loop that caters to everyone, with smooth rollers for beginners and quick jumps for thrill-seekers. Best of all, the trails never cross roads, so you can ride with peace of mind knowing the kids are safe.
